Logan Walls Wins 2nd Annual Rod Carter Jr. Memorial
Thunder Mountain Speedway honored a local racing hero last night at the 2nd Annual Rod Carter Jr. Memorial when the Ultimate Pro Late Model Series invaded the mountain.
During pre-race activities three drivers were awarded the Rod Carter Jr Memorial Foundation sponsorship. Dalton Brown was the winner of the 2025 sponsorship and received a sponsorship check for $5,000. Nolan Meadors and Brandon Mullis were also finalist with both receiving sponsorship checks in the amount of $2,100.
Logan Walls rolled off third in the 31 lap A-Main and was able to navigate lap traffic and pass Skylar Marlar for the lead on 23 for the lead. Walls went on to win by 2.024 seconds over 2nd place Dalton Brown securing the $5121 dollar payday. Tim Damron grabbed a podium finish by crossing the line 3rd.
Corbin, KY's Brian Nantz went flag to flag to win the Open Wheel Modifieds by 1.099 seconds over 2nd place Craig Stykes and third place Ben Petrey.
Zac Karr picked up win number 4 of the 2025 season in the Hobby Stocks after taking the lead from previous week's winner Brayden Noble. Karr took the lead on lap 3 and lead the rest of the way. Noble crossed the line second and David Marlar finished 3rd.
Brandon Porstner from Niota, TN doubled down on the weekend after winning Friday night at I-75 speedway. Porstner took the lead from Jim Rowland on lap four and went on to lead the rest of the way. Rowland finished second. After setting a new track record in qualifying, Raymond Fuson finished third.
Matthew Shupe picked up the win in the Crown Vics by 1.796 seconds over second place John Kidwell. Joshua Shupe rounded out the top three finishing third.
Before Intermission the Jr. FWD Division ran their feature with Skylar Hayes picking up the win and Gabe Strunk finishing 2nd.
