Results: 9/13/2025 Clash on the Mountain!

Thank each fan, driver, and crew member that came out to The Mountain last night for Clash on the Mountain!

We had 78 entries on the evening with 15 Best Plumber 604 Racing Series, 20 Open Wheel Mods, 17 Hobby Stock, 11 FWD, 5 Jr. FWD, and 6 Crown Vics.

Best Plumber 604 hit the track first for hot laps where Ross White out of Knoxville, TN laid down quickest time at 13.248. Skylar Marlar of Winfield, TN set quick time in qualifying at 13.385. Marlar and William Blankenship picked up heat race wins to set the front row of the $2,000 to win feature event. Skylar Marlar led flag to flag but the rest of the field was action packed with cars almost 4 wide at some points during the race. Ross White, Cameron Weaver, Reed Hatchett, and Caleb Todd rounded out the top 5. Skylar Marlar also picked up a provisional starting spot for King of the Mountain on 10/18/2025 for $10,000 to win!

Open Wheel Mods - Brian Nantz out of Corbin, Ky laid down quick time in hot lap/qualifying at 14.127. Nantz and Ben Petrey picked up the heat race wins to set the front row for the 20 lap feature event. After several attempts to get the race started the field settled out and Nantz had a 1.7 second lead when the caution came out on lap 16 for Tim Taylor getting into wall on the front stretch. During the caution Nantz had a right rear go down had was forced to retire for the remaining 4 laps surrendering the lead to Petrey. Petrey was able lead the remaining 4 laps to pick up the win. Matthew Hopper, Jason Saylor, Ross Burnett and Scott Wilson rounded out the top 5.

Crown Vics - Trace Wilson out of Versailles, Ky set quick time in hot lap/qualifying at 16.445. Wilson also picked up the heat race win to set on the front row with Joshua Shupe for the 15 lap feature event. Wilson lead flag to flag in the feature with Joshua Shupe, Franklin Helton, Jacob Shupe, and Matthew Shupe rounding out the top 5.

We did see an extra class of Late Models last night in action. It was added last minute due to some entries not passing tech for the Best Plumber Series. While these cars meet track rules, they did not meet rules for the series. The Best Plumber series uses the CrateRacinUSA rule book except for weight and tires. We wanted to allow them to get some track time and allow to race for a small purse. The name of the class was just made up for fun on the spot. Eric Centers swept the evening in the Misfit 604s. Centers set quick time, won the heat and feature event. Gary "Bub" Carter, Nolan Meadors, and Tanner Myers rounded out the feature event.

Hobby Stocks - Connor Stewart set fast time by .0002 seconds, however MyRacePass shows him as tied with Brayden Noble. Stewart and Noble where able to pick up the heat race wins to set the front row for the 15 lap feature. Stewart and Noble fired off dead even on the start of the feature as Noble led the first circuit and then Stewart was able to work the high side and lead the remain 14 laps holding off challenges from Noble, Bo Gilley, and Zac Karr. Karr rallied up 3 spots and showed Stewart his nose on the final lap but Karr settled for second with Bo Gilley, Noble, and Jason Callebs rounding the top 5.

FWD - Raymond Fuson set quick time in hot lap/qualifying at 15.808. Fuson and Jim Rowland picked up the heat race wins to set the front row for the feature. When the green flag dropped Rowland was able to lead the first lap, then Fuson lead laps two, three and four. Rowland was able to lead the final 10 laps but it wasn't without challenges from Fuson, Austin Leach, and Jacob Smith. Leach, Fuson, Kawasaki and Smith rounded out the top 5.

Jr. FWD - Thanks to Rains Home Repair, Rowland's Garage, K7 Motorsports, Porsnter Racing, and other people purse was added to the Jr. FWD for $250 to win. Skyler Hayes out of Rockholds set quick time and was able to lead flag to flag in the feature to pick up the $250 pay day. Gabe Strunk, Ava Stewart, Easton Ray, and Jayce Howlington rounded out the top 5.

Hall of Fame - Last night the Class of 2025 was inducted into the Thunder Mountain Speedway Hall of Fame. We had a great time celebrating the storied careers of local racing legends. Cecil Stewart, Russell Mayne, Ron Patterson, Denny Davis, and Benny Parker names have been etched into the TMS history books as Hall of Fame Member.
